Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) Awards
Travel Photographer of the Year is proud to showcase another great set of images as the 2014 winners. Once again they are very different from last year’s winners. Some you will find beautiful, others show a more gritty side to travel photography. All were taken by talented photographers – amateur, semi-professional and professional.
The winning images from Travel Photographer of the Year 2014 are displayed here and will be exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in London from 24th July to 5th September 2015. For example:
Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2014
Winner — Samuel Fisch, USA (age 17)
What the judges thought…
Samuel has chosen unconventional, somewhat mundane, subjects for his images but has demonstrated a keen eye for detail and a wonderful eye for and understanding of colour in his portfolio of the Venetian island of Burano in Italy, famous for its bold coloured buildings. He has elegantly captured the essence of the place whilst staying away from the obvious canals and boats to create a clean, cohesive portfolio.
The 2015 awards are open for entries – Closing Date 1st October.
